On his weekly radio show, Gopher football head coach Jerry Kill directly addressed an individual who wrote him an email calling him a “freak” because of his epilepsy disorder.

“I’ve had people attack me in different ways…’We’ve got a freak coaching the Minnesota Gophers,’

“I think it’s the baddest thing you can say to an individual,” said Kill whose health concerns has come front and center after suffering another seizure, this time, following the Northwestern loss at home last week.

Kill was asked about the status of his health when he opened up and spent three-minutes reassuring everyone that he is in full capacity to coach the Gophers this weekend in Madison against the Wisconsin Badgers.

“I’m a cancer survivor, I’ve been battling the same thing for 10 years…During that ten year period, as a staff and as a head coach, we won hellevua lot of football games…it’s just unfortunate that I am in this situation.”

Towards the end of his response, he directly addressed the unknown individual who sent him the email.

"“Maybe I’ll get in trouble for this, but I always told it like it is, and I am a tough person – I’ve got a tough wife –  and the best way I can put it is anybody that has the guts to do that, come see me, I’ll show you how damn tough I am.”"

If the winner of the Big Ten Conference was determined by a fist fight between head coaches, Kill would win in a knockout over Penn State’s Bill O’Brien in a heavyweight showdown, no doubt.

Nevertheless, well said Coach Kill.
