BREAKING: WR Barker quits team, cites issues with coach Kill

In a 4,000 word Tumblr post, author A.J. Barker, the leading wide receiver for the Gophers, has stated he has quit the Gophers, effective immediately  and will look to transfer elsewhere to play next year.

The redshirt junior had more than a few angry words directed at Kill in a post published a little after 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

“Thank you for showing me your true colors; that you will stop at nothing to prove you have control over me.”

The post makes mention of Kill forcing Barker to practice, despite an injured ankle sustained in the home game against Purdue earlier this season.

“This past Tuesday, you forced me to practice.  That was proven impossible when I couldn’t get through warm ups.”

Before the post, the football practice facility at Bierman Field hosted an up and coming Big Ten football program with a qualified coach at the helm — instead, the allegations brought forth by Barker could snowball into something much greater and that could bring more than headaches to freshman Athletic Director Norwood Teague.
