Defensive back Nate Godwin from Tampa, Fla. announced his decision to decommit from the Gophers to stay closer to home at the University of South Florida.
Godwin, a three-star recruit, was offered scholarships from Iowa State, Arkansas State, among many others including USF, but a recent coaching hire of former Western Kentucky coach Willie Taggart ultimately made Godwin rethink his commitment.
