The latest AP Top 25, released Monday, listed the Golden Gophers as No. 11 in the country, an improvement of at least a few despite playing only one game this week.

At 12-1, the Gophers enter Big Ten season with the same record as last year . The Gophers are on a eight game winning streak and their only loss was to No. 1 Duke over Thanksgiving weekend.

Minnesota’s next game will be against No. 19 Michigan State on New Year’s Eve at Williams Arena.

The Gophers sit between two Big Ten teams in the poll, sandwiched between No. 10 Ohio State and No. 12 Illinois. Michigan and Indiana, No. 2 and No. 5, respectively, are also listed in the Top 25.
