Against the defending champions and the No. 1 seed, the No. 4 Gophers scored often, piling up eight goals by the end of the third period.

Nick Bjugstad finished the night with two goals and two assists to led the Gophers to a 13-3-3 record. Boston College is 12-3-1 following the loss.

Adam Wilcox was named the goalie of the tournament as well as the MVP. The freshman from St. Paul stopped 49 of 50 shots in two games, the former a 4-0 win over Air Force.

The win over the Eagles was payback for a 5-1 defeat in the semifinals of the Frozen Four last spring in Tampa, Fla.
