Former Gopher wide receiver, A.J. Barker, who accepted a scholarship to play for the University of Houston next fall, was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession Monday night in Houston.

Barker, 21, was arrested on the University of Houston campus at 11 p.m. Monday night according to court records.

The St. Paul native from De La Salle High School posted a $500 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 14.

Barker led the Gophers this year with 30 catches for 577 yards and seven touchdowns before a high ankle sprain kept him sidelined.

The Minnesota walk-on quit the team after a falling-out with coach Jerry Kill in which Barker accused him of mistreatment. \

It will be very interesting to see how this will affect his football future.
