Indiana prep tight end Nate Wozniak committed to the Gophers Thursday morning following a successful visit to campus last week.

Wozniak, the 13th best player out of Indiana and the 39th best tight end in the nation, had been expected to sign with Miami (Fl.) less than a month ago.

At 6-foot-9-inches, Wozniak will be tied for the tallest player on the Gopher football roster along with offensive lineman Jonah Pirsig.

The addition of Wozniak will add to what is already a strong corp of tight ends. While John Rabe is graduating, Drew Goodger has shown moments over his first two seasons, including several acrobatic highlights on the field.

Lincoln Plsek and Maxx Williams will also likely play at tight end next season.

Wozniak will be the 16th addition to coach Jerry Kill’s class of 2013 and with signing day six days from Thursday, the coaching staff will look to add three more players.

Aside from Miami, Wozniak had fielded offers from Cincinnati, Iowa St., Maryland, Indiana, and Purdue.
