Sophomore wide receiver Devin Crawford-Tufts and freshman guard Wally Ellenson will compete for the University of Minnesota track and field team this season, according to coach Steve Plasencia, coach of track and field.

Edina native Crawford-Tufts had 16 receptions for 189 yards for the Gophers this year and will be running sprints on the track and field team.

Ellenson, who fell two inches short of becoming an Olympic qualifier in the high jump in high school, will start competing for the team as soon as the basketball season ends.

The Rice Lake, WI native has played limited minutes off the bench after returning from a broken hand.
