While in Chicago for the Hockey City Classic, we employed the services of local freelance photographer Brianna Kelly who was more than happy to accompany us to Solider Field to capture the program’s first outdoor hockey game in its 92-year history.

Not only did Kelly take photos of the action on the ice, she was also able to find action worthy of a Kodak moment in the stands.

As Eagan, Minn. native and Wisconsin Badger Tyler Barnes makes a play on the puck, Wisconsinite Jake McCabe looks completely lost. Can’t win with your back to the puck, McCabe. Yet somehow the Badgers pulled out a 3-2 victory at the Hockey City Classic.

Gopher freshman goaltender Adam Wilcox made 16 saves in the game, but this one got away from him as Wisconsin scored through the five-hole.

Like his shirt, his pants wouldn’t stay on for another five minutes after this photo was taken. Thankfully this presumed Badgers fan was kicked out by security before the man single-handily cleared the entire section of the stadium for himself.

Again, McCabe has no idea where the action is as Gopher forward Nick Bjugstad skates away with the puck with Barnes in pursuit.

BEFORE: McCabe is back, and this time he’s about to get put on his back by a Gopher who’s sick and tired of his act.

AFTER: The refs try to break up the scrummage but it’s clear McCabe lost this one. Lucky for him, he gets to sit in the penalty box for the next two minutes.

Oh no! What happened? Everybody got smaller! No, just kidding. A pee-wee squad took to the ice in-between periods. Those kids have mad dangles.
