Gopher football: Two former walk-ons earn scholarships

Offensive linemen Jon Christenson and Caleb Bak were awarded scholarships over the weekend from head coach Jerry Kill and the coaching staff.

Both were former preferred walk-ons native to Minnesota.

Bak, a redshirt junior in the fall,  impressed his coach last fall after shifting from the defensive line to the offensive line.  The sophomore was awarded multiple starts over the course of the season after injuries scattered the starting corp. He is slated to play as an offensive guard.

Christenson is a versatile offensive lineman.  He  was able to snag a starting job late in the season and moved around the line during the season.

The former Minnetonka standout will be a redshirt sophomore in the fall.
