Gopher women to face North Dakota in NCAA Quarterfinals

The No. 1 seeded Gopher women’s hockey team will match up against No. 8 North Dakota next Saturday at Ridder Arena in the NCAA Quarterfinals.

Minnesota beat North Dakota on Saturday 2-0 in the WCHA Final Face-Off to be WCHA Tournament champions for the second straight year.

North Dakota is a familiar opponent for the Gophers as they have faced each other five times this season with Minnesota winning all five games, outscoring North Dakota 31-9.

Riding a 46-game winning streak, the Gopher women last lost on Feb. 17, 2012 to North Dakota in overtime, 2-1.

Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT.
