Gopher women’s soccer star Taylor Uhl asked for a release from her scholarship this week in pursuit of a transfer from Minnesota.

The sophomore forward had 21 goals last season — nearly half of Minnesota’s 44 goals en route to leading the Big Ten in points.

Uhl, a top recruit from Eden Prairie, won several top soccer awards in high school, including Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year and was also named Minnesota Ms Soccer.

She would be eligible to play as soon as the upcoming season, according to the Minnesota Daily.
