With Reid Travis already committed to Stanford, the spotlight now shines on Tyus Jones, who announced on Monday evening that he’ll make his college decision on Friday at 3 p.m. CT from Apple Valley High School.
Jones, who’s ranked No. 4 nationally for the Class of 2014, will decide between Kansas, Duke, and Baylor. While technically Minnesota has not been eliminated from his shortlist, most indications suggest Jones will not choose the Gophers. It’s more than likely that Jones will end up committing to the same school as top overall recruit, Jahil Okafor. Not coincidentally, Okafor will announce his decision at the same time as Jones, fueling the rumors that they’ll go to Duke or Kansas as a package.
ESPNU will likely air the decisions as part of its Signing Day Special starting at 3 p.m. CT.
The last of Minnesota’s “Big Three,” Rashad Vaughn, will wait until spring to announce his decision.
