The No. 25 Minnesota Gophers will play arguably the most important game in recent program history on Saturday against the border rival Wisconsin Badgers. Both teams are 8-2 heading into the match up set to take place at TCF Bank Stadium.

Both teams are riding multi-game winning streaks. Minnesota is currently on a four game conference streak with wins over Northwestern, Nebraska, Indiana and Penn State while the No. 19 Badgers have won five straight games over opponents including the Wildcats, Illinois, BYU and the Hoosiers.

Wisconsin will bring their high-powered rushing attack to Minneapolis, which is currently good enough for seventh best in the country at more than 307 yards per game. On the other side of the ball for the Badgers, the defense has allowed on average only 14 points per contest which ranks as fifth best.

While Minnesota can’t compare statistics on par with the Badgers, they’re bringing in momentum that’s stemming from the longest conference winning streak in over forty years, not to mention Saturday is Senior Day at TCF Bank Stadium, with several key personnel playing their final games in front of the home crowd.
