Gopher basketball recruit withdraws commitment

In a strange turn of events, Daniel Edozie, a junior college basketball recruit from Tyler Junior College in Texas, committed to the Gophers last Wednesday, but withdrew his commitment Monday in a mutual agreement between the player and the school.

But just who is Daniel Edozie?

Very little information could be found on Edozie online, but according to Tyler Junior College’s basketball roster, he is a 6-8, 239-pound, forward from Compton, Calif.

A single YouTube video of Edozie shows him awkwardly doing a series of drills, but the four-minute video is unimpressive, to say the least.

Not sure what the Gophers saw in Edozie, but his withdrawal leaves Chicago small forward Alvin Ellis the sole recruit in Tubby Smith’s 2013 class.
