Gophers face Michigan State to tip-off Big Ten Season

The 12-1 Minnesota Gophers will take on N0. 19 Michigan State Saturday at Williams Arena in the Big Ten Season opening game for either team.

The Gophers, ranked No. 11, will face the Spartans for the 110th time in school history and will try and even the overall record between the two teams, which currently sits at 54-55.

Minnesota is 1-4 in conference openers under coach Tubby Smith.

The No. 11 ranking in the AP Poll is the highest ranking in the Tubby Smith Era.
