Former Gopher hoopster Royce White has been reinstated by the Houston Rockets on Saturday following a suspension handed down by the team to the 16th overall pick in early January.
The Hopkins High School alumnus has been inactive the entire season and had rejected an assignment to the D-League on Jan. 6.
White was featured on HBO’s Real Sports last week and said he knows his NBA career is at stake as he fights with the organization that drafted him over how to handle his anxiety and overall mental health.
The Rockets announced on Saturday that the two sides had come to an agreement that “addresses the major issues.” The league and the players’ union have both approved the stipulations, according to the Associated Press.
Given he has been staying in condition through the past several months, White has the talent to quickly play his way out of the NBADL.
White averaged 13.4 points, 9.3 rebounds and 5 assists for the Iowa State Cyclones in one season following his departure from the Gophers.
The Rockets are 23-22 without White this season.
