Minnesota is ranked No. 23 in the latest AP Top 25 released on Monday afternoon — an 11-spot drop for the Gophers, who had been ranked as high as No. 8 just three weeks ago.
The Gophers are currently riding a four game losing streak that started with the loss to then-No. 5 Indiana on the road followed by losses against Michigan, Northwestern and Wisconsin.
With five losses and 15 wins, the Gophers are the only ranked team with more than four losses.
Michigan State and Ohio State leapfrogged the Gophers this week. The Spartans are ranked No. 13 following a five-point loss to Indiana on Sunday and the Buckeyes are at No. 11.
Michigan is the new No. 1 after routing Illinois on Sunday.
The Gophers will play the next four of five games at Williams Arena. Minnesota will host Nebraska on Tuesday night.
