Gopher women extend streak to 37, defeat Ohio State 5-2
By Frank Bi
Bethany Brausen scored two goals and fellow captain Megan Bozek added a goal and an assist as the Gopher women’s hockey team beat WCHA rivals Ohio State on the road Friday, 5-2.
With the win, the Gophers are 29-0-0 on the season and extend their winning streak to 37 games.
Minnesota goaltender Noora Raty also notched her 103rd career victory saving 18 shots on goal.
Brausen and Bozek scored the first two goals to put Minnesota up 2-0 before Ohio State (16-11-2, 11-10-2 WCHA) responded with two goals of their own to tie it up with 10 minutes remaining in the second period.
But Minnesota, whose smallest margin of victory this season was against North Dakota on Oct, 28 when they won 4-2, wasn’t going to let this game be close as they rallied for another goal before the second period was over and two more in the third.
The Gophers will look for their 30th victory of the season against Ohio State at noon.
