Unknown NFL prospect runs record 40-yard-dash
By Cody Steger
Little known wide receiver Terrell Sinkfield ran a 4.19 40-yard dash at Minnesota’s Pro Day on Monday.
Sinkfield, a 6-foot-1 Northern Iowa prospect, broke the NFL Combine record of 4.24 set by current Titan’s running back Chris Johnson in 2009.
Only 11 players at the NFL scouting combine last month were under the 4.3 range.
The Gophers invited Sinkfield along with other small college prospects from the Twin Cities area.
While he had the speed at Hopkins High School in Minneapolis, Sinkfield did not earn any recognition from Division-I schools.
At Northern Iowa, he caught 43 receptions along with 499 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
According to some scouts at Minnesota’s Pro Day, Sinkfield is still unlikely to be drafted next month, despite having the speed that NFL teams look for in prospects.
MarQueis Gray and eight other Gopher seniors were also on display during Monday’s Pro Day.
