Class of 2013 high school basketball recruit Gavin Schilling will announce his college decision on March 20.
Schilling, a three-star recruit who plays for Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev., narrowed his list of schools to four in February. The list includes UCLA, Villanova, Michigan State and Minnesota. All four schools have made an offer.
The current high school senior and German national made an official visit to Minnesota as a junior but had been recently spotted behind the bench at Villanova and Michigan State games in recent weeks.
Not only is Schilling a talent on the court, he is also quite cultured. The teenager has lived in three different counties and can speak fluently in three languages.
Class of 2013 recruit Alex Foster played with Schilling when they were both enrolled at De La Salle. Their friendship has been well documented in the media and will likely play a factor in his decision.
Foster eventually left De La Salle too. He is playing for Seton Academy, also in Chicago.
Fellow 2013 recruit Alvin Ellis is the other committed recruit for Minnesota. Ellis is enrolled at De La Salle.
