Now that the Gopher men’s basketball season is over, freshman Wally Ellenson will refocus his attention to the track and field team.
Ellenson, a state champion high jumper from Rice Lake, Wisc., had his first practice with the track and field team as a high jumper.

While Ellenson didn’t see a lot of time on the court this season, he will likely set his mark as a high jumper for the Gophers.
In his senior year, Ellenson cleared 7-foot-1, which was just a couple inches shy of the Olympic trail qualifier.
