As the Gophers continue their search for a head coach, former Minnesota coach Tubby Smith landed a job as the next head coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Smith will be replacing interim coach Chris Walker, who went 11-20 this season after taking over for Billy Gillispie, who resigned following health concerns.
The Red Raiders are looking for stability at the position after going through a coaching carousel that included former Indiana Hoosiers coach Bob Knight.
Texas Tech is set to announce Smith as their next head coach at a conference Tuesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, another Gopher target was crossed off the list as USC landed Andy Enfield of Florida Gulf Coast University.
Enfield, in his second year as a head coach, led FGCU to a Sweet Sixteen appearance before losing to Florida this past weekend.
He will take over a Trojan team that went 14-18 this season.
