The Gopher’s 2015 football schedule was released on Monday, which included a few unfamiliar opponents for Minnesota fans.
Minnesota will open the 2015 football season on Sept. 3 at home against Texas Christian University and will also host Kent State and Ohio. The Gophers will travel to Fort Collins, Colo. for a match up against the Colorado State Rams of the Mountain West Conference on Sept. 12 for their only non-conference road game that season.

- John Hopkins University will compete in the Big Ten in men’s lacrosse beginning in 2015. Minnesota has a lacrosse team, but they are not one of six teams part of the Big Ten conference.
- Gophers wide receiver, Andre McDonald, is attending summer school, according to coach Jerry Kill. The former No. 1 overall prospect in Minnesota from Hopkins High School is expected to report to fall camp on Aug. 1.
- Memphis Grizzles head coach Lionel Hollins, the father of Gopher shooting guard Austin Hollins, was given permission by his organization to talk to other NBA teams after negotiations stalled between the two parties. Hollins led the Grizzles to the Western Conference Finals this season but his team was swept by the San Antonio Spurs last week.
