Sophomore Andre McDonald is back with the Gophers after being suspended in December for violating team policies, according to the roster.
The receiver was a big signee for the Gophers in 2012 as a Hopkins High School senior but struggled in his first season for the Gophers. He did not enroll in spring semester classes after being suspended before Minnesota played in the Meineke Car Care Bowl against Texas Tech.

- Mo Walker has lost more than 45 pounds this summer after being told by Richard Pitino he may not have a roster spot next year if he did not shape up. The 6-foot-10 center from Canada hovered over 300 pounds this past season but is reportedly now around 265.
- The Gophers will play Syracuse in the first game of the Maui Invitational from November 25-27 with Gonzaga, Baylor, Cal, Chaminade, Arkansas and Dayton in the remaining field.
