Six NFL pre-season games were played Thursday night and two prominent former Gophers – Marqueis Gray and Troy Stoudermire – were on rosters.

Gray, who was undrafted but signed with the San Francisco 49ers, did not record any statistics in a 10-6 loss to the Denver Broncos. He did get a few plays on special teams.

A quarterback and wide receiver with the Gophers, Gray will likely find himself on the practice squad as a tight end.

Stoudermire’s team, the Cincinnati Bengals, beat the Atlanta Falcons by a score of 34-10 but the cornerback did not record any statistics in the contest.

Former Gopher Marcus Sherels, who’s entering his third-year in the league, will likely get some solid playing time as cornerback and kick returner for the Minnesota Vikings when they play Friday night against Houston.
