Rumors of Gopher commit Jeff Jones transferring to football powerhouse Eden Prairie High School for his senior season circulated on the Twitter-sphere Monday afternoon.
The (formerly?) Washburn High School product and Minneapolis native is a four-star Rivals recruit who is ranked as the No. 1 player in his state for the Class of 2014 and 115th overall nationally.
It sounds like the transfer of Washubrn RB Jeff Jones to Eden Prairie has some legs. He was not at their practice today for the opening

practice, but a EP player told me that Jones' dad has gotten an apartment in Eden Prairie. Hope to have more info later on the U of M commit

It had been long rumored that Jones was looking to decommit from Minnesota and his transfer to Eden Prairie for his final high school season plays into those rumors.
Eden Prairie’s run-heavy offense would be more than ideal for Jones as well as the increased exposure to college scouts who are used to making their way to the suburban Minneapolis public school year after year.
Jones committed to the hometown Gophers in February despite offers from Wisconsin, Michigan State, Iowa State and Illinois.
