Gophers sellout Mariucci for men’s hockey games

On Tuesday, the Gopher hockey ticket office announced that the student section for men’s games was sold-out almost a month before the start of classes.

Men’s hockey begins their season with the Ice Breaker Tournament at Mariucci Arena on Oct. 11.

Student season tickets for football are still being available at $84 and student basketball season tickets are being priced at $99.

Based off the continued buzz of the basketball program under head coach Richard Pitino, it is likely that student hoops tickets will sell out before the season opener versus Lehigh on Nov. 8.

• The Pitino family boosted it’s reputation on Tuesday thanks to a blog post from Jeff Goodman of ESPN. The story talks of former Florida International assistant coach Mike Balado and his roller-coaster ride between jobs before finally landing an assistant coaching position with the elder Pitino at Louisville.
