Gopher Football: Brick by Brick video series begins

On Thursday, the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football team and the athletic department began its video series chronicling the team throughout the 2013 season with the first episode — “The Foundation” Brick by Brick. The eight minute first episode followed the team through the beginning parts of training camp in Minneapolis as the Maroon and Gold prepare for the tough Big Ten season.

In the episode, head coach Jerry Kill sets the tone by explaining the idea behind “brick by brick” and the importance of building the football program one piece at a time. Assistant coaches Bill Miller (linebackers) and Pat Poore (wide receivers) wore microphones during practice to get live interactions between players and coaches.

The video follows the team into various film rooms as well and talks with players like Derrick Engel, Isaac Fruechte, Aaron Hill, and Jack Lynn.

The “brick by brick” series is scheduled to run weekly throughout the season and episode No. 2 is set for Wednesday, Aug. 28 — the day before Minnesota begins their season against UNLV.
