A day after receiving an offer from Duke, four-star basketball recruit Reid Travis narrowed his list of schools to seven on Thursday night.

The Gophers are still in the mix for the De La Salle High School senior, along with Gonzaga, Michigan State, Duke, Stanford, Georgetown and Notre Dame. Travis had more than 30 offers before narrowing down to seven.

He ranks as the third best prep basketball player in Minnesota in the Class of 2014.

Travis, a 6-foot-8, 240 pound power forward, was also being recruited in football, but he recently gave up aspirations to play college football to focus on basketball.

In other recruiting news, University of Minnesota basketball head coach Richard Pitino will make a home visit with shooting guard Isaiah Whitehead on Wednesday according to Adam Zagoria.

Whitehead is a four-star recruit from Brooklyn, NY and is currently ranked No. 35 overall on ESPN’s Top 100 prep players for 2014.
