Gopher Football: Marcus Jones shares weekly Big Ten honor

Junior return specialist, Marcus Jones, was named Big Ten Co-Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday after returning a punt 65 yards for a touchdown on Saturday against New Mexico State.
Jones also returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown in Minnesota’s home opener win against UNLV on Aug. 29.
The Wake Forest, North Carolina native has one career punt return for a touchdown on six returns and two career kickoff returns for touchdowns on 22 attempts, according to Gopher Sports.
Jones was a two-star recruit when he committed to Minnesota as part of the Class of 2011.
Purdue kick returner Akeem Hunt was the other award honoree.
