Gophers’ target JP Macura commits to Xavier

Gopher target and four-star recruit, JP Macura, announced his decision to commit to Xavier University on Monday night. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard was considered a top target for Richard Pitino’s Gophers.

The University of Minnesota was the first Big Ten school to offer Macura a scholarship and was consistently mentioned by Macura when he discussed his recruitment.

Macura’s commitment to the Big East conference program comes as a surprise as many had considered Creighton and Minnesota to be the front runners over Xavier.

The Lakeville North High School standout had an official visit to the Cincinnati college on Friday.
