Gophers Football: Linebacker Everett Williams commits to Minnesota
By Steve Pesek
The University of Minnesota Gophers football team picked up its seventh recruit of the Class of 2014 in Texas outside linebacker Everett Williams. The Legacy High School (Mansfield, Tex.) senior committed to the University of Minnesota on Monday — his eighteenth birthday.
Williams is a three-star recruit who measures at 6-foot-2, 222 lbs. His speed and strength will be a great addition to the Maroon and Gold.
With a fairly young class of linebackers already with the Gophers, Williams’ commitment is a great signing to add depth to the future of the Minnesota secondary.
Williams made an official visit to the University of Minnesota during the weekend of Sept. 20 and witnessed the Gophers beat San Jose State at TCF Bank Stadium.
A bright and polite 18-year old, Williams picked among offers from Navy, Louisiana – Monroe, and New Mexico State.
In addition to news of his commitment, Williams is up for a weekly award in the Texas area for the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas Players of the Week poll. Vote for Williams with this link.
