Gophers Football: Jerry Kill out against Michigan after suffering seizure in Minneapolis

For the second time in six games, the Gophers will be without head coach Jerry Kill, who suffered a seizure Saturday morning in Minneapolis.

Kill was scheduled to arrive in Ann Arbor on Friday with the team, but felt ill and decided to travel there on Saturday instead. He would not make the trip and will be at home for the game against the Michigan Wolverines.

Defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys will assume head coaching duties.

Official Statement from the University of Minnesota:

"“Minnesota football coach Jerry Kill is at home in Minneapolis and will not be on the sideline for today’s game against Michigan. Coach Kill was not feeling well on Friday morning and decided to meet the team in Ann Arbor on Saturday. He then suffered a seizure on Saturday morning and will remain at home in Minnesota for today’s game.Coach Kill has been in contact with his staff today and defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys will serve as Minnesota’s acting head coach from the press box.”"
