Despite sitting through their second bye week of the season, the Minnesota Gophers are listed in the BCS standings this week thanks to losses by previously ranked Texas, Miami and Georgia.

The Gophers come in at No. 25 on the BCS standings, a few spots behind the Wisconsin Badgers who moved up three spots to No. 19 this week after blowing out Indiana. The two teams will face-off at TCF Bank Stadium on Saturday in the annual battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe.

Other Big Ten teams to be included in this week’s BCS standings include Michigan State at No 13 and Ohio State at No. 3.

While the Gophers ranked in the BCS, they fell just short in the AP Top 5, coming in unofficially at No. 26.

Minnesota, 8-2 on the season and 4-2 against the Big Ten, has two games remaining including the matchup against Wisconsin. The last game of the season will be against the Spartans on the road.
