Texas Bowl ranks No. 25 on SI’s Bowl Rankings

Alright, let’s be honest here. Minnesota versus Syracuse in the Texas Bowl (formerly the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas — whew), is not a sexy match up.
Syracuse barely made it into the postseason and, in my opinion, Minnesota was cheated out of a better bowl game (cough Gator Bowl cough). Both teams are awkwardly heading to Houston in a few weeks, so I’m not surprised when SI ranked all 35 bowl games and placed the Texas Bowl as the 11th worst bowl game on the schedule.
"How are we supposed to keep track of this game from year to year when its name keeps changing? Is it the Texas Bowl or the Houston Bowl or the Meineke Car Care of Texas Bowl? It’s so confusing. The only constant here is the Gophers."
Yes, SI, you’ve done your research. Minnesota is back in Houston for the second straight year, but this time, they’ll be expected to crush the Orange for their ninth win of the season.
