It is expected that former Golden Gopher defensive tackle Ra’shede Hageman will be taken in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday evening. Early on Thursday, it was discovered that another ex-Golden Gopher will be taking his defensive tackle talents somewhere else.

The Univeristy of North Dakota announced that Jordan Hinojosa has left the Gophers for UND. Hinojosa red-shirted last season and it did not appear he was destined for a lot of playing time in 2014 for Jerry Kill and Minnesota.

Hinojosa has three years of eligibility left and will be able to play right away at North Dakota since UND plays a division down in the FCS sub-division.

Hinojosa recorded a tackle for a loss in the Gophers spring game.

Hinojosa is from Miami, Florida and played his first year of college football at Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas. In seven games at Coffeyville Community College, he recorded 11 tackles and one sack in 2012.

North Dakota’s first game of the year is Thursday August 28 at San Jose State. The Gophers’ first game is the same day at home against Eastern Illinois. The Gophers and North Dakota will not meet in 2014 season.
