Ex-Gopher QB Philip Nelson Arrested In Mankato

Philip Nelson is no longer a Golden Gopher, but apparently he is still hanging around his hometown of Mankato, Minnesota. Hanging around and apparently getting arrested as well.

Stay tuned for more updates as the situation becomes clearer. Nelson is transferring to new Big Ten member Rutgers for the upcoming season. Nelson attended Mankato West in high school, Kolstad attended Mankato East.
UPDATE: Via KSTP-TV, Nelson was arrested at 2:44 AM on Sunday morning. The victim, Kolstad, was found at an intersection around 2 AM. Nelson was on location and arrested due to probable cause assault. Nelson is pending third degree assault charges.
