1. QB Mitch Leidner

Leidner completed less than 50 percent of his passes (12-for-26) in last year’s loss to TCU, along with three interceptions and a lost fumble. The junior signal caller does not have to be the star of this year’s rematch, but he does have to be efficient and productive as the leader of Minnesota’s offense.

Leidner needs to take care of the ball, and make the most of the opportunities that do come through the air for the Gophers to keep pace with the Horned Frogs. His athleticism is obviously not on the level of Boykin’s, but Leidner has to be a productive runner on Thursday night and help sustain drives with his legs.
